As well as completing the ITEC level 3 course in Sports Massage, I also graduated with a degree in Sports Studies in 2001 and have worked in the fitness industry as a fitness instructor and personal trainer for 20 years. Having had a multitude of injuries over the years has given me both a personal experience of dealing with a variety of injuries as well as an inquisitive interest in the muscular system of the human body, how it works and how sometimes things can go wrong and lead to injuries or physical conditions.
Sports massage uses a mixture of massage techniques and passive and assisted stretches as well as soft tissue release, myofascial release and neuromuscular techniques to treat problematic areas and imbalances in soft tissue caused by repetitive and strenuous physical activity.
